Potucek Family at Calico Basin

Here is a beautiful family, visiting from Tacoma Washington and visiting in one of our hottest months of the year. We have Nicole(mom), Jordan(dad), Ryley, Noah and the little one in the yellow is Camden.   In the summer, due to the heat and lighting purposes, it is necessary to have shoots at 8am(even earlier if possible) or as late as 8pm at night.  In this case, we shot at 8am and still it was blazing hot outside. There wasn't much shade to work with and the heat ricochet off the mountains even more in the early hours.   I think it was 98 when we finished at 9am.  They were all great sports though, especially the little ones.  I loved how everyone coordinated their outfits to match.  Thanks guys!  I had a great shoot with you all!! I hope you loved your shots!!

Shylar's Newborn Session

Shylar was 2 months when we had our shoot.  Those first months after birth really fly by and before we know it they are sitting up and curious about the world around them.  That's why having a newborn session is so important, we really want to stop time, even if it's for just a memory and get those pictures before it's too late.  With Shylar, it was too late to capture her crinkly, sleepy, little face but it's wasn't too late to capture her first grins.  I had a lot of fun this shoot and Desiree(mommy) and Hiland(daddy) did too!

Here are a few favorites of little Shylar....what a sweet little baby(the last one, mommy had to sit her up to make it look like she was sitting all by herself, it looks soooo real)!

Nikki, Mark, Mei and Matthew

A lot the time, the people I photograph are people I know or referrals from people I know.  That's just one reason why I love what I do so much!  Nikki and I both worked together in the past.  She is an amazing spirit.  She is new as a Las Vegas Realtor and is so enthusiastic about her future.  Her charisma shines through her family...Who can blame her, her family is beautiful!  Her husband Mark is a fire fighter here in Clark County.  Mei(15) and Matthew(9) were so fun to work with too!  Teens and pre-teens are so much easier than the newborns and babies that I typically photograph...If all my shoots could be this fun, I would be in Heaven! Here are a couple of my favorite shots of this shoot taken at Calico Basin this past December!

Roy and Morgan

Last December, I was asked by a couple of friends of mine who are newly engaged to do an engagement session for them.  I was so excited because I already knew them and  Roy was one of my husbands' best friends from high school.  Both my husband and Roy don't like posing for the camera so I knew I was going to have tons of fun with this one.  I was planning on messing with him....big time!!
Morgan wanted to get some shots at Aria around those beautiful fountains and I haven't done any shoots there yet, so I was thrilled.  Sometimes I like to offer the engaged couple to grab a couple glasses of champaign that we could use as props.  They were down for that so they grabbed it, we all went outside and right when they sat down....it broke!  Okay, we'll have to improvise....no more champaign, ha!!  The rest of the shoot was a breeze, except for the fact that it was 30 degrees outside and poor Morgan was freezing.  I hope she didn't get sick from being outside too long.  Anyway, we got some good shots outside that I loved.  We headed over to Bellagio for some sunset shots of the Bellagio fountains.  I love shooting in front of those fountains.  This time the show was much shorter than the ones I had in the past and the fountains just weren't quite as high as they had been in the past.....since it was pushing 29 degrees outside, we didn't wait for another show....who would!!!
Thanks Roy and Morgan! I didn't mess with Roy like I could have but since you were such a great sport, I really didn't have to!
